From 16 October, weekend work hours on the SIMTA site will be extended in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment (COVID-19 development – Construction Work Days) Order (No 3) 2021 (the Order), which allows work to occur weekends and Public Holidays during the hours specified for a weekday (7am-6pm) with in the consent.
At present SIMTA anticipates weekend works in accordance with the Order will continue until the Order is repealed.
The first activity to occur is the importation of fill. The timing and duration of these works is a factor of the availability of and demand for construction materials across Greater Sydney, as well as the impacts COVID-19 has had on the industry.
Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to the local community.
